Graduation Ceremony Information

Graduation Practice
  • Graduation practice will be held on May 23rd at 8:00 am in the old gym.
  • You must attend practice to be in the graduation ceremony. No exceptions!
  • If you received an outstanding financial obligation reminder, make arrangements for payment today! You will be pulled from graduation practice and graduation if you still owe money – even if it is only ten cents.
  • Dress in comfortable clothing (shorts, t-shirts, etc.). Remember, you are still a student and the dress code will be enforced. Don't forget your sunglasses!
Graduation Ceremony - Parent Information
  • The ceremony will be held in the stadium at CGHS on May 23rd at 7:00 pm.
  • In the event of heavy rain, the ceremony will be postponed until the following morning (passing rain showers will be waited out).
  • Guest tickets will be passed out to graduating senior during graduation practice. Each student will receive at least 8 tickets. Additional tickets are not available.
  • The number of tickets each senior will receive will be determined by taking the seating capacity of the stadium divided by the number of students graduating (each senior is guaranteed to receive at minumum 8 tickets).
Graduation Ceremony - Student Information
  • Meet in the 700 hall.
  • All students will be searched for contraband upon entering the school. You will not be permitted to leave the 700 hall until the procession into the stadium begins.
  • Dress appropriately. (click here for information on how to properly wear your cap and gown)
  • Only approved honor cords and stoles will be allowed to be worn during the ceremony.
  • Do not leave personal items in the 700 hall classrooms during the ceremony. Arrange for a parent or friend to hold your belongings during the ceremony (this includes purses/handbags).

After Graduation - Student Information

  • When graduation is over, immediately report back to your homeroom teacher in the 700 hall to pick up your diploma. You will have 30 minutes from the time the ceremony ends to pick up your diploma. If you do not, you will have to pick it up from the counseling office the next day.
